Protecting our energy means setting boundaries and becoming mindful of what influences and drains our emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
It’s about consciously choosing what we allow into our lives, whether it’s a relationship, environment or media and ensuring that we develop practices to maintain our inner balance, prevent burnout, and create space for positive, nurturing experiences that align with our authentic selves
Maintaining Emotional Balance:
Protecting your energy helps prevent emotional exhaustion and keeps you grounded. It ensures you don’t absorb negativity or stress from others, allowing you to remain emotionally balanced.

When your energy is drained, it can cloud your judgment and lead to confusion.

Regularly Cleanse Your Space:
Use sage, palo santo, or incense to cleanse your living space of negative energy.

Imagine a protective shield of light surrounding you.
Visualise this shield as a barrier that only allows positive energy in and keeps negativity out.
You can use different colours, like white for purity or gold for strength, to enhance this protection.
Protective Shield Meditation
Begin by sitting or lying down in a comfortable position.
Close your eyes and take a few deep, calming breaths.
With each inhale, feel yourself becoming more centred, and with each exhale, release any tension or stress from your body.
Imagine roots extending from the base of your spine or the soles of your feet, reaching deep into the Earth.
Feel the strength and stability of the Earth supporting you.
Allow yourself to connect with this grounding energy, feeling secure, safe, and fully present.
Now, visualise a small, radiant ball of light at the center of your chest, right at your heart space.
This light represents your pure energy—your essence.
With every inhale, see this light growing brighter and larger.
With every exhale, let it expand, filling your entire body with warmth and protection.
As your inner light continues to expand, see it forming a glowing bubble or shield around your entire body.
This shield can be any colour that resonates with you—white for purity, gold for strength, or even violet for spiritual protection.
Feel this energy field wrapping around you, forming a protective barrier.
Imagine this shield as a mirror where you can see out but no one can see in.
Affirm to yourself silently or aloud:
“I am protected. My energy is safe. Only positive, loving energy can enter my space.”
Feel the shield around you become even more resilient and strong, yet still allowing light, love, and healing energy to flow through.
Spend a few moments in stillness, holding the intention that this shield will stay with you throughout the day.
Imagine it repelling any negative energy, stress, or unwanted influences, keeping you centred in your own power.
When you’re ready, take a few deep breaths, slowly bringing your awareness back to the room.
Gently wiggle your fingers and toes, and when you feel grounded, open your eyes.
Know that your protective shield is still with you, guarding your energy as you move through your day.
Home/Family/Workplace Protection Practice
Step 1: Cleanse the Space
Begin by physically cleaning the space.
Declutter and remove any unnecessary items, as physical clutter can trap stagnant energy.
Once the space is clean, perform an energetic cleanse by burning sage, palo santo, or using sound (like a bell or singing bowl) to clear out any lingering negative or unwanted energy.
As you move through the space, visualise any stagnant energy dissolving and being replaced by fresh, vibrant energy.
Step 2: Set Protective Intentions
Stand in the centre of your home, office, or the space you wish to protect.
Close your eyes, take a few deep breaths, and focus on your intention to protect this space and everyone in it.
Silently or aloud, affirm:
“This space is a sanctuary of peace, love, and protection.
Only positive energy is welcome here.
All negativity must stay outside.”
Step 3: Visualise a Protective Barrier
Imagine a strong, protective light surrounding your home, family, or workplace. This light can be any colour that resonates with protection, such as white, gold, or blue.
Envision it forming a shield that extends over the walls, floors, ceiling, and even the grounds around the space, sealing in positivity and shielding it from harm or negative influences.
Step 4: Reinforce with Crystals or Reiki Symbols
Place protective crystals like black tourmaline, obsidian, or amethyst at the entrances of your home or workplace, or in key areas where you feel extra protection is needed.
If you are a Reiki Level 2 or above, you can also use Reiki Symbols 1,2,3 & 4 or any other Symbols you are attuned to.
Step 5: Regular Maintenance
Repeat the cleansing and intention-setting practice regularly—weekly or monthly—to maintain the protection.
You can also repeat this process anytime you feel the space needs a refresh, such as after arguments, illness, or when welcoming new people into the home or workspace.
